Policies & Practices

Policies and Practices is a discerned commission of Student Council whose members serve as liaisons between the student body and administration to address and resolve student concerns. Policies and Practices coordinates the annual High School Youth Summit as well as Town Hall meetings. Throughout the year, members perform data collection and research on school policies.

Major Events:

  • Policies and Practices coordinates the annual High School Youth Summit, which in 2018-19 will take place on October 23, 2018.
  • Quarterly Town Hall meetings are run by members of the Policies and Practices commission.

I am a representative of what the student body stands for. I have been able to see behind the scenes of DSHA and understand the administration’s concerns and needs as well as those of students. We are dedicated to achieving success and to improving DSHA.

Policies & Practices members must attend:

Full Student Council Meetings:
  • Tuesday, July 31, 2018: Noon - 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, January 13, 2019: Noon - 3 p.m.
  • State Student Council Conference: Sunday, April 28, 2019

Commission Meetings:
  • Specific commission meeting times will be communicated to commission members upon their admittance into Student Council. 

Additional commission-specific or event-planning meetings may be scheduled throughout the year.
