Where do chefs and cooks find the delicious ideas for the foods they create? They start with cookbooks! Let’s look at the art of creating good recipes and gathering them together. Escape Rooms are a type of physical adventure game in which a group of people are locked in a room and have to solve a series of puzzles, find clues and escape the room with a set time limit. Let’s try our own version at DSHA! We’ll devise many challenges, scavenger hunts and puzzles that will get you to use your detective skills and work as a team to solve many mysteries!

Fabric Fun

Tie-dye, puffy paint, and fabric markers, oh my! Each day, you’ll design and decorate a piece of clothing, stuffed animal, pillow, or even a decorated pen and pen cap! Creativity and individualism are strongly encouraged, and you will be able to work together to perfect fabulous fashion pieces and cute fabric creations!

A list of required clothing pieces will be provided before camp begins.

Each day we’ll read and discuss a new fairy tale. Then we’ll take on a series of activities including themed scavenger hunts and art projects that will create a magical week for you. Scavenger hunts, huge games of tag, parachutes, kickball, and more. Join us for outdoor fun while making new friends and soaking up some vitamin D. This camp is designed to strengthen the body while empowering the brain!

Parts of a Whole

Get a jump start on fractions. Campers will begin each day with a story and then see how fractions are part of that story and a part of everyday life. We’ll work together on creative projects that help visualize fraction concepts with hands-on crafts and games.

Pets and Their Care

We LOVE our pets! Here’s a camp where you can learn about furry and feathered friends. Whether you have a pet or wish you did, learn about the health benefits of having an animal in your life, why breeds look and behave so differently, and how to keep animal friends happy and healthy. Campers will even create pet items to share, like food dishes and collars, with their furry friends.

We’ll encounter new people, places, and food along the way!

DSHA Head Cross Country Coach Andy Lelinski will introduce you to distance running, as well as individual instruction in techniques and training necessary to prepare for the 2024 fall season. This camp acknowledges a wide variety of talent and experience and will tailor the running portion of the program to suit the individual needs of participants. Field Hockey | Gr. 5 - 8

Learn a new sport! Join the DSHA Varsity coaching staff, current players, and alums to learn the sport of field hockey. DSHA Head Coaches Sue Walline and Quinn Loucks will provide everything you need to know!

Shin guards and mouth guards are required. Cleats or turf shoes are preferred, but sneakers are allowed. Sticks will be available to borrow. Equipment is available for purchase at Burghardt Sporting Goods in New Berlin and Fox Point or online at Longstreth.com and Amazon.

First Aid and Safety

Come learn the basics of first aid. Simple emergency procedures will be covered. We’ll talk about recognizing emergency situations and how to get help. Girls and Robotics

Come learn about the exciting world of coding and robotics! The field of robotics is full of unique challenges, critical thinking, and creativity. During the week, campers will work with members of the Hilltopper Robotics FRC Team 1732, our cooperative team composed of Divine Savior Holy Angels and Marquette University High School students which has competed multiple times in the FRC World Championships. Through a variety of hands-on activities, campers will build and program a robot to perform fun and friendly challenges while learning the basics of mechanics, electronics, and coding.

Service — Dasher Style

Service is an important aspect of being a Dasher! Come and participate in some of the same service projects DSHA students do during the school year — and learn what it takes to create your own service project. For players who have not advanced to the U12 age group, or with limited softball playing experience. This session will help players learn the game from the ground up. Great for players at the U8 or U10 levels or who are new to the game of softball.

Togas and Tiaras

Explore the world of Romans and royalty through the use of hands-on activities and with the assistance of current DSHA Latin students. Campers will learn about mythology, Roman numerals, basic Latin greetings, popular uses of Latin in everyday modern life, some customs and art of the Ancient World, all culminating in a Toga Party and Olympic Games on Friday.

DSHA Head Volleyball Coach Caitie O’Brien Ratkowski, DSHA ’02, will provide instruction for those who want to learn and improve the basic skills necessary to play competitive volleyball. A progression of all skills will be taught, along with some position-specific drills for those skills. Camp will include a combination of drills, fun, and games to put those skills to work, ending the week with competitive play. This five-day camp will provide a lot of learning and tons of fun. Students will learn law, debate, and public speaking as they prepare for and participate in a simulated trial experience. Community Theatre Works

DSHA's Community Theatre Works program (CTW) is an intensive, four-week summer rehearsal process that combines the talents of DSHA students and alumnae, middle school students, and community members.

Students in grades 5-12 work in tandem with local talent in a caring theatre environment that fosters mentoring, teaching, learning, and growing to produce a summer musical.

Students will experience all aspects of the production from auditions to rehearsals to full performances before eager audiences. Campers will even have exposure to the behind-the-scenes work of creating a set from scratch and how to collaborate with stage crew.
