Faith Formation

Prayer & Worship

The DSHA Campus Ministry department aims to promote students’ Catholic Christian identity by supporting students through opportunities to deepen their faith and to grow as young women leaders in the Church – both as individuals and within the community. Our mission is to give every student (regardless of her faith background) the opportunity to worship God, explore her faith, and come to a deeper appreciation of spirituality during her four years at DSHA.

Whether through all-school Mass, participation in the Liturgical Seasons, or taking the time during a Wellness hour for quiet prayer in the Mother of Our Savior Chapel, students are encouraged to live out, explore, and grow in their faith through multiple prayer and worship avenues.

Daily Prayer

Twice a day, the DSHA community takes time to stop, reflect, and pray. A member of the faculty or staff leads the school every morning in prayer, while a member of the student prayer team does so in the afternoon. During these times, the school is quiet and reflective together in an atmosphere that encourages a deeper engagement with God in community.

All-School Liturgies

Developing an understanding and love of God is the primary focus of the preparation for and celebration of our monthly all-school Masses. Students plan and serve in ministry roles during all Masses, developing as faith-filled leaders in the Church — beyond the walls of their high school experience. Several Campus Ministry Leadership Teams are involved in the planning, preparation, and celebration.

Faith Fridays

Every Friday, Campus Ministry offers an optional Faith Friday Mass in the Mother of Our Savior Chapel. Following Mass, the Rosary Team invites all DSHA community members to say the Rosary or share special intentions. Students plan and organize the liturgies, while a local priest celebrates Mass.

Mother of Our Savior Chapel

Drawn from the biblical passages of the Tree of Life (Revelations 22:1-2), this chapel interweaves nature, scripture, and faith to give glory to Mary, the Mother of Our Savior, and to her Son, Our Divine Savior. This space is used for Faith Fridays Rosary and Mass, Eucharistic adoration, reconciliation, as well as being open to the DSHA community for prayer and reflection throughout the day.
