Opportunities for 2022-2023

Volunteers are an essential part of many activities here at DSHA and a great way for parents, alumnae, and DSHA community members to connect with each other.
 
From stuffing envelopes to chaperoning dances, helping with the Auction, or one of our Parent Associations — we could not do what we do without you! Below is a list of opportunities available for volunteering.

  • PAA Golf Outing & Dinner | Sept 9, 2022

    PAA Golf Outing & Dinner Planning Committee
    Help the PAA support Dasher Athletics with its one and only annual fundraiser at
    The University Club in Brown Deer. 

    The planning committee meets monthly from May-September to plan & fundraise for the outing held on a Friday, September 9, 2022

  • Alumnae Weekend | Sept 30 - Oct 2, 2022

    Join your fellow Dashers at DSHA on Saturday, October 1 for Dash-tober Fest.
    Volunteers will be needed week-of the event to prep and night-of for help with serving food and beverages, fall vibes, and so much fun!

  • Mother Daughter Liturgy & Luncheon Committee | Nov 20, 2022

    The Mother Daughter Liturgy & Luncheon will take place on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Assist on the day of the luncheon with set-up, liturgical roles, or selling raffle tickets.

  • Father Daughter Dinner Dance Committee | Feb 4, 2023

    The annual Father Daughter Dinner Dance is one of DSHA's most popular events. This year's Father Daughter event will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023.   • DSHA Auction | March 11, 2023

    DSHA Auction Committees
    If you're interested in chairing or joining an Auction planning committee, please reach out to Director of Volunteer Engagement & Special Events, Sarah Zander.

    Below is a list of the different committees:
    • Acquisitions Team: Join the Acquisitions Team and reach out to previous item and experience donors to seek their support this year. Creative ideas for new items and experiences are always welcome. We have both a voice and a silent component to our auction.
    • Engagement Team: Join the Engagement Team and help round up parents, alumnae, and friends of DSHA to attend (or volunteer at!) the auction and ensure it is the best party of the year!
    • Environment Team: Join the Environment Team and create the perfect atmosphere that fits the theme (TBA) for this year's auction. Share your ideas or follow the directions of the creative-types. Volunteers begin creating the look of the event in January.
    • Sponsorship & Advertising Team: Join the Sponsorship & Advertising Team and reach out to previous donors, area businesses, and other friends of DSHA to ask for their support.

    Day-Of Volunteers:
    We need volunteers for March 10-12th as well for event set up, day-of duties, and tear down/clean up.

  • Dasher Day of Giving | April 19, 2023

    Dasher Day of Giving is a day to give, share, and love with the DSHA community! This day is about making a gift to support current and future Dashers. To share gratitude for the DSHA community on social media, and to celebrate the people in the Dasher community who made a difference for you this past year.

  • Grandparent Liturgy | April 26, 2023

    DSHA annually welcomes hundreds of grandparents for Mass and a light breakfast with their granddaughters on April 26, 2023. We're looking for volunteers to assist with set up, greeting, hospitality and clean up.

  • Baccalaureate Mass & Graduation Ceremony | May 25 - 26, 2023

    Graduation week is full of celebrations at DSHA. Only freshman, sophomore, and junior parents should sign-up for these activities, so that senior class parents can attend with their daughters. Assist with hospitality for the Baccalaureate Mass or the Graduation Ceremony. Have questions or need more information? Contact Assistant to the President Stephanie Czosnek.

  • Graduation Dinner Dance | May 30, 2023

  • General Administrative Volunteer | MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES

    Opportunities include:
    • Helping the Advancement Department with clerical tasks including mailings, data entry, spreadsheet updates, and other jobs as needed.
    • Helping out in the Main Office answering phones and welcoming visitors when one of our staff is out of the office. Training will be provided. We also have a variety of mailings and other office projects throughout the year.

  • Dance Chaperones | MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES

    Assist DSHA staff with chaperoning and student supervision for one of the three remaining dances this year:

    Homecoming Dance | September 24, 2023 – 7pm-10pm at DSHA 
    Sophomore Fling | February 12 – 7pm-10pm at DSHA
    Junior Prom | April 29, 2023 – 7pm-10pm Place TBA
    Graduate Dinner Dance | May 30, 2023 – Time/Place TBA

  • Recruitment Events | ONE-TIME / EVENT

    Recruitment events for prospective and current students are held throughout the year.
     
    They include Girls Night In, Freshman Fun Nights, Lock Ins, etc. Assist DSHA staff with supervision and event management.

  • Dash-a-Thon Money Counter | September 8 - 21, 2022

    Help us count money raised and turned in for Dash-a-Thon, the annual student fundraiser at 8:00 a.m. on September 21. The ideal volunteers have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and are willing to take charge on both counting days.

  • 8th Grade Open House | October 23, 2022

    Save the date for our fall Open House for 8th grade families on Sunday, October 23.

  • Santa's Workshop Elves | Nov 2022

    Elves will be contacted for availability during daytime hours at the end of November.

  • Annual Fund Phon-a-Thon Volunteers | Feb 2023

    Giving to the DSHA Annual Fund makes a difference in the education of every single young woman attending our school. Volunteering your time and asking your fellow Dasher supporters to donate to the DSHA Annual Fund is equally important. Each year DSHA parents volunteer to assist the annual fund in outreach through the Phone-a-Thon.
    We will meet at school to call on parents, alumnae, and donors to help us reach our goal so that we can provide the best experience possible to all current Dashers. A script will be provided to all volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Director of Annual Giving Kathleen Keller.

  • Dasher Resale (Textbooks) | June 2023

    Used textbooks are collected and priced in late May and the used book sale will take place in the Quad in June - date to be determined. A link to sign up will be posted in spring, 2023. Until then, contact parent co-chair Tracey Fricker. 
  • Dasher Resale (Uniforms) | June 2023

    Help with DSHA's annual used uniform sale in summer. A link to sign up will be posted in spring, 2023. Until then, contact Dean of Student Affairs Rachel Fredricks.

CAMPUS MINISTRY | One-Time or Ongoing

  • Campus Ministry — Collection Delivery

    Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month during the school year, students donate canned goods for a food pantry in order to be out of uniform. Campus Ministry needs volunteers to bring those canned goods to Mother of Good Counsel Food Pantry (3021 N 68th St, Milwaukee, WI 53210). Pick up time is 8:00 a.m. at the DSHA student entrance. Cars are loaded by 8:45 a.m. Interested or have questions? Contact Director of Salvatorian Service Dr. Katie Pickart.
