Freshman Service Day

Freshman Service Day is a longstanding DSHA tradition wherein the entire freshmen class, led by DSHA faculty and seniors, spend a day serving together at various sites throughout Milwaukee. This experience introduces the newest members of our school community to the Salvatorian commitment to those who are most in need throughout our local community. It is held on the second day of Freshman Retreat and is a part of the service graduation requirement. Rooted in our Catholic, Salvatorian mission, this experience gives students a greater awareness of their responsibility to act for justice and serve the needs of others.
This day is a part of DSHA’s service requirement, and is an important component of faith development during the freshmen year serving as a means to build character, develop leadership and communication skills, and give students critical insight into the needs of the community.
