Janie Felker Jasin, DS '57

Jubilarian of the Year
Janie has spent more than 35 years working as a nationally acclaimed professional speaker. She’s given keynote and breakout addresses to nurses, caregivers, teachers, parents, corporations and schools, and has also given presentations to and taught classes for other professional speakers.

Her presentations offer a mix of humor and deep compassion for people and their struggles — a combination that lets her connect with audiences on a personal level while leaving her listeners laughing and ready to learn more. Janie has spoken for audiences at local and national levels, including the Mayo Clinic, Anderson Brothers, Leadingage, ANFP Association, Aurora Health System and Methodist Park Nicollet, among others.

Besides working as a professional speaker, humorist, coach and presenter, Janie is also a writer and best-selling author. She’s sold more than 2 million copies of her book, The Littlest Christmas Tree, which celebrates the messages of Christmas, growth and hope. Book sales help raise funds for organizations.

Janie Spent 3 1/2 years at Mt. Mary College. She also worked with and taught Dale Carnegie training programs earlier in her career — doing so at a time when few women were entering the sales force. Her work at General Mills was part of her early career. She lives in Minnesota and sits on several boards, including with the Minnesota Department of Corrections and the Minneapolis Cornerstone Treatment Center. In her spare time she laughs and takes naps.
