Sister Karlyn Cauley, SDS, DS ’61
While Sister Karlyn Cauley, SDS, DS ’61, focused on the sisters’ commitment to education, she was encouraged by a fellow sister to pursue a Master’s degree in art. She taught the discipline for years and is now the artist-in-residence at the SDS Art Gallery at DSHA.
She uses her talent to touch people in a unique way—her artwork brings about joy, beauty, reflection, an honest openness about the struggles in life, and an awareness of the need for simplicity. This simplicity is found in the gallery, a place where people find refuge and support.
Qualities of a DSHA Graduate: She is a communicator. Art gives her the opportunity to introduce others to the Sisters of the Divine Savior and effectively share their mission—to make God’s goodness known to all people.
