DSHA is proud to announce that Marian Scholars Faculty Gretchen Caraher, DSHA ’93, was selected as a 2024 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow and received a $6,000 grant from the foundation.

Principal Dan Quesnell explains that Caraher was an outstanding fit for the award “because of her skill as a leader and agent for positive change, and her superior ability to inspire a love of learning.”

According to JoAnne Anton, president and CEO of Herb Kohl Philanthropies, this award is designed to “recognize students, teachers, and principals who demonstrate incredible hard work, achievements, and service.”

Teacher Fellowship awards are bestowed upon 100 teachers across Wisconsin annually and recognize leadership and service in the classroom and beyond. Fellows are chosen by a statewide committee of civic leaders and representatives from education-related associations.
