School closed today, 1/23/19, due to snow event.

Dear DSHA Community,
This message is to inform you that school is closed today due to the current snow event that is impacting road conditions throughout the metro Milwaukee area.
The following information pertains to our seniors participating in Vocare.
Vocare Snow Policy
Students are not required to report for Vocare if DSHA is closed due to severe weather. They are, however, required to contact their site to inform them of the snow day. They do not need to make up these hours. If a student’s Vocare site is officially closed due to severe weather, they are not to report to their site and will not need to make up those hours. If DSHA is open and the Vocare site is open, students are required to serve at their site.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow!

Special Events

Dash-A-Thon is the only student-led fundraiser that directly supports the cost of students' DSHA education. The goal of the student body is to raise $75,000 from net proceeds. Raising Quota – $120 – from friends, neighbors and extended family to sponsor their seven mile walk/run is the expectation for each student. In true philanthropic spirit, each student makes her own gift to help meet her Quota.

A DSHA Tradition

Annually held in the first quarter, Dash-A-Thon Day begins with the assembly of students dressed in theme in the gym. Each grade level is assigned a theme within the greater theme of Dash-A-Thon. Senior leaders prepare the student body for their seven mile walk and for those so inclined to run. It is an exciting morning for the whole school and students earn a much needed afternoon of rest post-Dash.

Incentives include prizes for top individual fundraisers, top homeroom fundraisers, a school-wide movie day and an extra day off on the Monday following Thanksgiving.
