"A World United Under the Stars" Dance at 7 p.m. with an open microphone session that begins at 6 p.m.
Information: On Saturday, January 21st, the DSHA Student Council (DEI) will be sponsoring the school’s annual Multi-cultural Dance in the DSHA Gym. The dance will be held from 7:00pm to 10pm. Doors close by 8pm and students will not be permitted to leave until 9:30pm. Please review the important information below. The student and parent must complete the form.
Cost: Fee for the dance is $5 – payment at the door. All students must have a current High School ID to enter the dance. Dress code will be enforced at the time of entry.
Dress Code: The dress code at DSHA reflects the values and standards of our school and it reflects modesty and good taste. The dress code will be strictly enforced and must be followed by all students attending – both DSHA students and their guest. Anyone not in compliance with the Dress Code will not be admitted to the dance and refunds will not be issued. If you are bringing a friend, it is your responsibility to make him/her aware of the DSHA dress code.
The accepted attire for the Multi-cultural Dance is casual - semi-formal. Comfortable clothing is recommended. This can include dresses or pants set, dressy fashion tops. All dresses must be finger length or longer. No low-cut necklines. Gentlemen should have their shirt on at all times and no headgear will be allowed. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Transportation: DSHA strongly discourages limos and party busses as a mode of transportation. DSHA reserves the right to breathalyze any student. If your daughter (or guest) has obtained her/his license within the last nine months, please be sure that transportation arrangements for this dance are in accordance with the law.
Parking and Drop-off/Pick up: All students will enter through the back, West Gym Doors. Chaperones will direct students to the gym where the dance will be held. Please pick up your student promptly after the dance.
Dancing: “Dancing that involves pushing/shoving and dancing that is of close physical contact and/or overtly sexual in nature is not allowed.
Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco: The use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco by teenagers is strictly prohibited. DSHA reserves the right to breathalyze students and guest at the time of entry and on a random basis. Parents or guardians of anyone suspected of using alcohol and/or drugs or possession of a weapon will be notified by phone and those parents will be asked to come to DSHA immediately, to pick up their son or daughter. The police will be notified if a student is in possession of a controlled substance and/or weapon.
