What is the PSAT? • The PSAT is not a college extrance exam. • The purpose of the PSAT is to identify National Merit Scholars, for which 2% of test takers qualify. Why should a student take the PSAT? • There is a strong likelihood she would be among the top 2% in the nation on the PSAT (if she has an exceptionally strong record of standardized test taking from elementary school on). • She is interested in practicing a standardized test and realizes the PSAT is just practice.
