On March 19, Dashers gathered to recognize their classmates' accomplishments in academics, athletics, and the fine arts. Here's to the Dashers who earned Jerry Award nominations, showed their art across the state, and more!
Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Each year, hundreds of Wisconsin high schools and thousands of students participate in this competition. This year, eight DSHA students were recognized by a panel of creative professionals for outstanding merit in originality, skill, and personal voice. These pieces were displayed over the winter at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Wisconsin Youth Art Month Competition
DSHA is proud that students participated in both the Southeast Wisconsin Regional and Wisconsin State Youth Art Month contests this year. Congratulations to Madeyln Wicker, DSHA ’26;Ava Roesch, DSHA ’26; Lilah Tierney, DSHA ’27; Rory Correa, DSHA ’28; Adelaide Yost, DSHA ’28; and Gen Baltz, DSHA ’28, whose artwork was showcased at UW-Whitewater this winter and is now on display at East Towne Mall in Madison.

Jerry Award Nominations for Hadestown: Teen Edition
The Jerry Awards, run by the Overture Center in Madison, recognize excellence in high school musical theatre across Wisconsin. The finalists in each category will be selected in May. If selected, the award winners will attend the awards ceremony in early June and may perform. DSHA's nominations are as follows:
