Carla Olle

Carla La Valle Olle, HA ’60

In 1965 Carla began her 38 year tenure with DSHA, where over the course of her career she would serve in a variety of roles as both faculty and staff between Divine Savior and DSHA High School. While at DS and DSHA, Carla led the home economics/family and consumer studies department and taught Christian marriage in the theology department. In 1992, she became the Coordinator of Student Activities, Clubs, and Special Programs. Also in 1992, Carla initiated the role of college advisor and held it for seventeen years, leaving a lasting impact on thousands of college-bound women.
 
Carla also taught at John Marshall Middle and High School, and served as a college counselor at Brookfield Academy.
 
Carla has been an active member in the community throughout the years, serving on the Mount Mary College Alumnae Association, National Association for College Admission Counseling, National Association of School Councils, Wisconsin Association of School Councils, Wisconsin Association for College Admission Counseling, and the Education Foundation of Brown Deer – Career Exploration and Career Readiness Study.
 
Carla has always been very involved at DSHA. She served on the Alumnae Board, received the DSHA Service Award in 1998 and The Emil and Freda Petrusek Award in 2013. Upon her retirement, DSHA renamed Women’s Day to Carla Olle Career Day as a tribute to her 38 years serving on the faculty and staff.
 
Carla Olle graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1960. She earned her bachelor’s degree in home economics education with a minor in general science from Mount Mary College.
 
Carla and her husband have two daughters, Teresa Olle, DSHA ’87 and Elizabeth Olle, DSHA ’91, and three granddaughters: Natalie, Roxanne, and Grace.
