Frozen Stars Bring the Magic to WTMJ4

Lisa Kaminski
On November 4, WTMJ4 visited DSHA for a preview of this fall's musical, Frozen.
The anticipation for the fall musical is building not just within the DSHA community, but in Milwaukee as well! To capture some of the magic of this hit musical, a crew from WTMJ4 stopped by DSHA to catch a glimpse of this year's production.

To show off this powerful story of sisterhood and some of the magical moments in the production, Dashers performed "Fixer Upper," "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?," "I Can't Lose You," and "In Summer." These songs allowed students to show off the incredible sets (including a giant moving castle), magical glowing lights throughout the theatre, and a very fun Olaf puppet that Ellie Kirgues '27 uses to perform her character.

Natalie Hartung '27, Alexia Nicoletopoulos '27, Madi Lame '27, and Ellie shared with reporter Stephanie Brown that DSHA Theatre is a lot like a family and that portraying a story of sisterhood with their Dasher sisters is second nature.

When asked about the impressive sets – including the mammoth painted theatre wall that required the talents of the entire stage crew and cast – stage manager Judy Hernandez '27 explained that all the work is done in-house by Dashers. "Girl power!" exclaimed Stephanie.

The segment will air on WTMJ4's What's Brewing Wisconsin on Monday, November 9 at 3 pm.

You can see Frozen at DSHA November 6-8 and 13-15. Tickets are selling fast!
