About the DSHA Grading Scale and GPA

Weights are assigned to Dual-Credit/Concurrent Enrollment and Advanced Placement courses to reflect the additional rigor and challenge. Please note: DSHA reports BOTH a weighted and unweighted GPA for greater transparency in grade reporting.

Weighted GPA requests are relevant when students compete for scholarships with students from schools that use weighted grades. When college admissions examine student transcripts, they look for breadth and rigor in the course load. Weighted GPAs are recalculated by colleges to fairly evaluate applicants. DSHA has a reputation among institutions of higher education for its integrity in grading and for not engaging in grade inflation practices. The DSHA grading scale is outlined in the chart below.
