Fully Online / "Red" Plan

Synchronous & Asynchronous Expectations

Plan Description | In this plan, DSHA is fully online due to a weather event, or an intermittent (a day or two) or long- term need determined by COVID-19. One of the ways we would choose to use the fully online plan is to support our in-school grade-level retreats. In this plan we will deliver our mission virtually with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning.

This plan includes all of the essential elements of the DSHA, whole-person approach to educating young women of faith, heart, and intellect.

Lowest Risk Scenario

This fully online plan presents the lowest health and safety risk to the DSHA community, and would be a plan enacted if we were required to do so by local government/health authorities.
  • The fully online scenario with synchronous and asynchronous learning is perhaps less complicated than the hybrid option but human connection is not the same through technology. Therefore, this is not a plan DSHA would choose casually or choose first.
  • Our preference will always be the fully in-person option, which is recommended as the starting point by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The AAP acknowledges that schools are “fundamental to child and adolescent development and well-being” while also acknowledging that “our understanding of the [COVID-19] pandemic is changing”.
  • The trajectory of COVID-19, its impact specifically on the DSHA community, requirements rendered upon us by the CDC or the City of Milwaukee Health Department, evolving understanding of safety measures, weather, and DSHA programming (retreat support) will determine how or if we move in or out of the different scenarios.
