Who We Are

Message from the Principal

Welcome to Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.

As the proud parent of four daughters it is often suggested to me in a subtly negative way: “wait until they are teenagers.” I am actually very much looking forward to my daughter’s teenage years. Working with the young women of DSHA each day is engaging, hopeful, inspiring and representative of the potential of each Dasher. Being a teenager today is challenging and I look forward to my own daughters having the privilege to attend and benefit from an all-girls Catholic school where they can grow in their faith, heart and intellect.

At DSHA, all-girls makes all the difference and I would like to invite you to explore our website and to learn more about how the all-girls environment will make all the difference for your daughter. Our whole-person approach to education focuses on the spiritual, intellectual, social-emotional, wellness and leadership growth of each girl. By spending some time on our website you will learn more about our Catholic mission, our history, faith formation, academic preparation, co-curricular programming, and our approach to whole-person education among other topics.

Our sponsoring order, the Sisters of the Divine Savior, have made it their mission to foster the awareness of a loving God and to promote the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We animate this mission by engaging young women in the planning of Campus Ministry programming from leading retreats, to daily afternoon prayer. The DSHA faith formation experience provides our young women with the opportunity to better understand and appreciate our Catholic faith and to grow in their relationship with God while learning to work for justice and peace in our world.

We are also proud of our strong academic reputation of college preparation. The curriculum at DSHA challenges young women to think critically and to communicate effectively. Our teachers are creative, effective professionals who strive to engage student learning. Annually, 99 percent of our graduates pursue post-secondary education at a four-year university. They report being exceptionally prepared for college success. The average DSHA student performance on the ACT over the past three years is 26.9, which demonstrates the academic talent level of our students and their preparedness for success on such measures.

Research shows that involved students typically find greater academic success and so we provide many opportunities for student involvement in co-curricular activities. Our athletic program offers non-cut sports in each season- in fact over half the student body typically participates in a fall sport. Angelaires and theatre are two additional hallmarks of the DSHA co-curricular experience. We offer a plethora of clubs and activities and believe strongly that there is something to engage each student.

Finally, in our more than 125 year history we have never been more effective than we are today in successfully educating the whole-person. Our innovated approach to wellness education, our commitment to physical fitness, and access to resources such as the ALPHA center, Freshmen Seminar, Student Services, and Campus Ministry is all facilitated by our unique 8:4 schedule.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope that you might be able to envision that the all-girls environment will be all the difference for your daughter.

God Bless,

Dan Quesnell
Principal
