CROSS COUNTRY The DSHA Varsity Cross Country team came in fourth at the Greater Metro Conference (GMC) meet on October 15. Ava Johnsen, DSHA ’26,came in first at the conference meet. The team competed in the WIAA Sectional on October 22 and finished fourth overall.

FIELD HOCKEY | STATE CHAMPION
The DSHA Varsity Field Hockey team won the Wisconsin High School Field Hockey Association (WHSFHA) conference championship on October 6, granting them a bye in the first round of WHSFHA State Tournament in mid-October. On October 12, they defeated University School of Milwaukee 5-0 in the semi-final round. The team emerged as state champions on October 15 after they beat Arrowhead 4-0. This was the first undefeated field hockey season in school history.

GOLF
The DSHA Varsity Golf team competed in the GMC Championship on September 21 and came in second overall. They finished second in the WIAA Regional and the WIAA Sectional meets, qualifying the team for the WIAA State Tournament for the first time since 2011. The team finished 10th overall at the WIAA State Tournament on October 10 and October 11.Ava Roesch, DSHA ’26, finished 30th overall with a score of 166 over two days. Kate Krueger, DSHA ’24, finished in 32nd place overall with a score of 168 over two days.

RUGBY| STATE CHAMPION
The DSHA Rugby A team faced four area teams during their fall season, outscoring their opponents 214-14. In the Wisconsin Girls’ Rugby State Tournament’s first round, the team defeated Brookfield 39-0. They secured the state championship on October 30 after a 36-26 win against Sussex Hamilton. The DSHA Rugby A team will compete for the Midwest and national titles this spring.

SWIM AND DIVE
The DSHA Varsity Swim and Dive team came in 5th place at the GMC Conference meet on October 29. In early November, they finished 4th at the WIAA Sectional meet. On November 12, the team competed in the WIAA State Swim and Dive Championships. Allison Brennan, DSHA ’24, finished 13th out of 24 divers. The 200-yard medley relay team of Chloe Rummel, DSHA ’25; Lauren Correa, DSHA ’24; Rose Kachelski, DSHA ’24; and Maggie Brzezinski, DSHA ’26, finished 16th out of 24 teams and set a new school record of 1:51.77. In addition, Correa took 16th out of 24 swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke. She set a new personal record of 1:06.56.
The DSHA Varsity Tennis team won the GMC Conference meet on September 27 and 28 for the sixth year in a row. At the WIAA Sub-Sectional on October 4, they scored 24 points and took first place, and they scored 48 points and took first at the WIAA Sectional two days later. The team sent singles players Carolyn Schaefer, DSHA ’24, and Madi Guillermo, DSHA ’25, as well as the doubles teams ofJoan Barry, DSHA ’23, and Kelly Coury, DSHA ’23, and Molly Jex, DSHA ’24, and Lizzie Stuckslager, DSHA ’26, to the WIAA Individual State Championships from October 13-15. Schaefer finished 7th and Jex and Stuckslager won the doubles championship. At the team WIAA State Championships later in October, the team was the number 3 seed and defeated Notre Dame Academy 6-1 in the first round. The team then fell to Middleton 2-5, tying for third place to mark the end of a fantastic season.

VOLLEYBALL | STATE CHAMPION
The DSHA Varsity Volleyball team finished 8-0 in the GMC and took first place in the GMC Conference Championship. After a bye in the first round of the WIAA Regional, the team defeated Whitefish Bay to advance to the WIAA Sectional. The team clinched the WIAA Sectional, winning against Germantown and Sussex Hamilton. This earned them a spot in the WIAA State Tournament for the first time since 2017. In the quarterfinals of the state tournament, the team won against Middleton 25-9, 25-13, and 25-18. In the semi-final game, they faced Appleton North, defeating them 25-23, 25-17, and 25-14. They faced #1 Oconomowoc in the state championship game on November 5. They won the state championship in fivesets, winning the first two sets and losing the next two. They won the last set 15-13. This state championship was the fourth in school history and the first since back-to-back state titles in 2014 and 2015. At the end of the season, the team was ranked 19th nationally in the USA Today Sports/American Volleyball Coaches Association National High School Volleyball Super 25 Final Ranking.
