Dash-a-thon Movie Day

Dear Parent or Legal Guardian,
We are happy to share with you that the DSHA student body reached and went beyond their quota for Dash-a-thon. Because of their hard work and effort, they have earned their incentive - Movie Day 2018! The date of the event is Wednesday, November 27, 2019. This annual tradition rewards the students for their success, and we are very enthused about taking part in this fun day.
At the beginning of the school year, you signed the DSHA 2019-2020 Student/Parent Response Sheet, stating that your daughter has permission to attend Movie Day and “ride on a school bus to and from the movie.” It is understood, therefore, that your daughter will participate in Movie Day and is given the permission to ride the bus to the theatre. If she has your permission to have an excused absence, or if she has permission to drive or be a passenger in a car, arrangements may be made.
Please attend to the attached permission slips:
If you allow your daughter to drive to Movie Day or ride in a car driven by another DSHA student/parent or you, please fill out and sign the appropriate permission slip. If your daughter will not be attending movie day, please sign appropriate permission slip
If neither of the forms is filled out, it is assumed that your daughter will be in attendance for Movie Day and will ride the bus to and from the theatre. Since you already filled out that permission slip in August, you do not need to provide permission.
Please note that this is a mandatory school day; attendance will be taken:
Students who will be taking the school-provided bus transportation are expected to arrive at school no later than 7:30 a.m. to check in. Attendance will be taken, and we will depart via school bus for the theatre promptly at 7:50. If your daughter has your permission to arrive at the theatre via car, she is to report to the theatre promptly at 8:00 a.m. where she will need to account for her attendance with DSHA staff members.
If you choose to allow your daughter one of these two alternatives, please have your daughter turn in her permission slip to Mrs. Gardner (Rm. 313) on or before Monday, November 25. We have to order buses so NO LATE PERMISSION SLIPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Late permission slips mean we pay for buses we don’t use. NO PARENTAL EXCUSE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON DAY OF MOVIE, except for illnesses.
