Graduation
Graduation will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Marquette University - Al McGuire Center. The building will open at 4:00 p.m. and doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Graduates are to assemble in the lower level of the Al McGuire Center on the campus of Marquette University, 770 N. 12th St., at 4:30 p.m. in order to be included in the senior class picture. Please note: Bathrooms are limited in the lower level.
Seating for guests is limited to the bowl area of the Al McGuire Center. Only graduates may be on the floor of the Al McGuire Center before the ceremony due to safety reasons.
Handicap seating is available for those attendees with limited mobility. In order to ensure there is enough handicap seating for the friends and family of the graduates, we ask that you limit the seats in this area to the guest with limited mobility and one friend/family member.
As stated on p. 13 of the Student Handbook, a full or tea length (below the knee) dress in white or ivory is to be worn. White or ivory gloves are mandatory. Shoes must be white, ivory, or nude with heels not to exceed 3½ inches (flip-flops not permitted). A wrap or shawl is encouraged with strapless, halter-type, or spaghetti strap dresses. Dresses with cut-out or exposed sections in the front, back, or sides are not permitted. The back and front neck line should be conservative and of a tasteful cut. Seniors are required to email a picture of their graduation dress to Mrs. Ruby Brock (BrockR@dsha.info) by Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
