DSHA Posada

DSHA Quad
Lisette Rodriguez-Reed
Please join us for a night of fun during our posada in the Quad!
The celebration of the posada is an important tradition celebrated in the Mexican community. These celebrations take place on each of the nine nights leading up to Christmas. The word posada means "inn" or "shelter" in Spanish. In this tradition, the Bible story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay is re-enacted. The nine nights of the posada are said to represent the nine months that Jesus spent in Mary's womb, or alternatively, the nine-day journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
On each of the nine nights, a different quality will be meditated upon: humility, strength, detachment, charity, trust, justice, purity, joy, and generosity.
Come to enjoy an evening full of games, food, and piñatas!
