Welcome to DSHA, Ms. Maria Schram!

Maria Schram
Director of Student Services
On April 1, 2022, Ms. Schram started as the DSHA Director of Student Services. She comes to us with twenty years of administrative leadership in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. During these twenty years she has served as principal at St. John the Evangelist (Greenfield), St. Monica (Whitefish Bay), and most recently at St. Mary’s (Hales Corners) where she retired from being principal, but not from Catholic school leadership. Additionally, she has served the St. Joan Antida High School (Milwaukee) community as both principal and academic dean. Previous to becoming a principal, she taught history in the Archdiocese for thirteen years. A 2019 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Leadership Award Recipient, Ms. Schram has directed strategic planning to advance student learning, strengthened Catholic identity and faith formation, developed community partnerships, and developed new systems to improve school culture and student learning.

In the role of Director of Student Services, Ms. Schram will develop and articulate the vision and philosophy of Student Services programs for DSHA by planning and providing strategic leadership to ensure the vision is realized consistent with the DSHA mission. She will lead strategic decision making within the school as it pertains to Student Services with focus on the academic, social, emotional, wellness, and mental health needs of our students. She looks forward to building collaborative relationships with the entire population of DSHA and will focus on policies and procedures which enhance the education of the whole person. Student Services strives to provide counseling services consistent with the American Association of School Counseling National Model.

Ms. Schram is familiar with DSHA having served for several years on our Academic & Student Life Committee of the Board of Directors. She also supported our school during COVID-19 by serving as a permanent substitute teacher last year. Ms. Schram completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in history and broad field social studies education at the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire. She completed her Master of Science in Educational Administration through Cardinal Stritch University.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Maria Schram to DSHA!
