Brian Calhoun

Coach Calhoun is entering his 12th year coaching overall, was an All-Big Ten and All American RB at Wisconsin in 2005, and NFL running back with the Detroit Lions from 2006-2009. He ran on the Big Ten champion 400 meter relay team in 2005, which ranks second all time in Wisconsin history, as well as qualifying for the NCAA National Championships.  He spent two years at the University of Pittsburgh as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, overseeing the speed development of the team. Calhoun spent 5 years as the Head Track and Field coach at Brookfield Central, guiding the program to three team conference championships and 50+ state qualifiers, including 5 school records and multiple state runner ups. In his lone season thus far at DSHA coaching sprints, his 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams finished 5th and 6th respectively at the WIAA State Meet in 2022. 

For the past eight years, Coach Calhoun has been the Director of Fitness and Performance at DSHA, overseeing the speed, strength and conditioning program. During his tenure, he has trained several teams that went on to the WIAA State Championships and multiple State Championship teams. He currently is the Health and Fitness Department Chair and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Accredited Interscholastic Coach, Certified USATF Level 1 and has his USTFCCCA Technical Certification.
