Class of 2025

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the DSHA Class of 2025! We are so excited for your daughter and your family to start at DSHA!

Please mark the following dates on your calendars and watch your email (and this webpage) for updated information about future opportunities for the Class of 2025 to gather together.

If you have any questions, please contact the admissions office.
We are committed to helping your daughter with the high school transition, even as we continue to navigate through the pandemic and subsequent COVID-19 restrictions. Our priority is to welcome you to the DSHA family while keeping you all as safe and healthy as possible.

We are planning several events to help your daughter meet future classmates and current DSHA students, as well as events that will share important academic information. These events have been adjusted to meet the safety protocols of the City of Milwaukee Health Department, and some events are still in the works!

  • Summer Cool | June – August 2021

Join us for your best summer yet!

Check out offerings specifically for the Class of 2025:
    • Camp Dasher  | Rev up for the new school year! Spend five glorious days at DSHA in this fantastic introduction to your first year. You’ll explore the school, make new friends, meet faculty and staff, learn about classes, and discover ways to make the most of your four years as a Dasher. Sample school curriculum through mini-session and gain skills in notetaking, writing and organization, and more. You’ll also participate in a service project, daily reflection and recreation.
    • Leadership Boot Camp | Leadership is a big part of being
a Dasher and this Boot Camp will get you in shape to be a leader at DSHA. This day-long experience will build a connection within the Class of 2025 as well as a sense of community while inspiring students to be leaders from their first day at DSHA. Group activities focused on teamwork, critical thinking, and real-life scenarios combined with fun ice breakers will prepare freshmen to make an immediate impact at DSHA. Are you up for the challenge? Are you ready to lead?
    • Learning How to Learn: How to Succeed in School Without Spending All Your Time Studying | This practical, fun and hands-on workshop is based on the best-selling book of the same name, and we will use that book as a guide for our workshop. Get ready to learn how you learn most effectively and efficiently so you can eliminate bad habits you’ve (unfortunately) picked up. Learn new things about how people really do learn and use all this as a way to create a learning approach you can put into practice when school starts. Please note: each participant must purchase the workshop book before camp and bring it on the first day.
    • Forensics Boot Camp | Extemporaneous speaking, dramatic interpretation, poetry, prose and more! Suitable for seasoned competitors or beginners entering high school, this camp is designed to prepare you for the 2021-22 forensics season. In a fun, supportive atmosphere, you will build on your strengths to refine your communication skills and learn the art of effective delivery. Other areas of focus will include voice and breath control, peer coaching and using mindfulness to gain a competitive edge. You will receive intensive personalized coaching as well as team-oriented training. DSHA and MUHS students interested
      in forensics are welcome.

The Dasher Mentor program is designed to help you through your freshman year at DSHA. All freshmen are assigned to a small group (5-6 freshmen) with two Dasher Mentors (current DSHA students). Your Dasher Mentors will contact you in March to introduce themselves and organize opportunities for you to meet your fellow Dasher Mentor group members!

Dasher Mentor groups will follow DSHA's health and safety plan as it relates to COVID-19.

Events are planned during the first few weeks of the school year, and your Dasher Mentors will continue to connect with you during your freshman year. Your Dasher Mentors are great resources for you as you begin your high school journey!

This interactive classroom experience focuses on teaching you the academic and social/emotional skills that will help you thrive at DSHA.
