DSHA faculty have become leaders in education, exercising influence throughout the greater Milwaukee area and beyond. Schools from across the country have sent their own faculty and administration to campus to learn more about our innovative approach to whole-person education and the environment in which it occurs. In partnership with Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, our faculty and administration have had opportunities to present this working model and research findings at national conferences. Areas of innovation include a research-based, integrated focus on wellness across the institution that is not found in any other secondary school in the country. Additional areas of innovation include a drop-in academic support center based on a college and university model, the unique 8:4 schedule, and a student-driven model of Campus Ministry.
