parent organizations Parents are key members of the DSHA community and important partners in much of the work done through the school on behalf of each student. In addition to individual volunteer activities, three organizations provide opportunities for parents to meet and work together.The parent chairs of Parents Association, Parents Athletic Association and Parents Fine Arts Association invite you to become involved by supporting these organizations with your time and voluntary dues. Dues are $25 per association.

The DSHA Parents Association strives to be a friendly oasis for all DSHA parents. In addition to sponsoring the Auction, Father-Daughter Dinner Dance, and Mother-Daughter Liturgy and Brunch, Parents Association conducts programs specific to freshman and sophomore student/parent issues, coordinates opportunities for shared student/parent service, and offers opportunities for socializing at a Students of Color Picnic in August and a Wine and Cheese Volunteer Social in early September. Annual dues provide funding for food and beverages at these events, and for hospitality at school functions such as New Parent Orientation, Back to School Night, and Open House. Parents Association also throws a Christmas Luncheon (with a small monetary gift) for the DSHA faculty and staff, so you see your dues are put to good use! While you do not need to join the Parents Association to enjoy its programs, the payment of annual dues will allow for continuation of these and other programs, and will be greatly appreciated.

The DSHA Parents Athletic Association (PAA) provides both financial and moral support toward maintaining and improving DSHA athletics.PAA-funded projects include the athletic trainer, team warm-ups, coaches’ clinics, equipment replacement, and the fall and winter/spring sports programs.The PAA also sponsors the Annual Golf Outing, a major fundraiser for DSHA’s athletics. Outing proceeds and annual dues provide much needed funding for PAA projects. We invite you to join Parents Athletic Association through payment of voluntary dues.

The DSHA Parent Fine Arts Association (PFAA) is committed to supporting and developing the fine arts programs at DSHA. Annual dues provide a foundation for PFAA projects such as equipment acquisition, scholarships for DSHA students to attend summer fine arts clinics, on-campus master classes, and hospitality at concerts, musicals, and plays.Your voluntary payment of dues will be much appreciated as DSHA develops each of its many fine arts programs.
