Parents Association Minutes
March 21, 2007

The meeting was called to order by Margaret Dunn-Watson. It began with a prayer by Cindy Salmins.

Members present:  Margaret Dunn-Watson, Ellen Bartel, Cindy Salmins,  Kim Newman, Randy Mark, Arlisia Henry, Jim Podewils, Sister Virginia, Sue Foley and Karen Knauf

Task Force Reports:

Sub and Substance: Kim Newman reported there was a light turnout. Possible reasons were suggested; blizzard conditions, basketball game in gym, and the night after a day off of school the day before.  Possible suggestions for next year were only have food for the freshman parents and for the others, skip food and move the time back to 7:00.  Sue Foley will take over this project for next year.  We will try to find an assistant also.  A donation basket was put out at the event, money was collected, and we will continue to do so.

Parent Service: There was discussion on if we are getting enough participation.  There are about 30 families that help at St. Anne’s, which is not enough to get all service projects covered.  It was brought up that maybe we scale back at St. Anne’s but continue at the Cathedral where we get enough participation. Also, it is unclear at this point who will continue to lead this project next year. Participation seems to be mainly freshman and sophomore families.

Sisters of Culture:  This years’ event will be held in The Quad on Sunday, August 26.  It was discussed that subs will be served this year. 

Treasurer Report:  No new report was given.  The budget for next year will be worked on by the next meeting.  All committees have submitted a proposed expense report.

New Business: None

Meeting was adjourned at 7:25. 

The next meeting has been changed from April 19 to Tuesday May 8, at 6:30.
