First and third place awards for DSHA essay writers

Milwaukee –Divine Savior Holy Angels High School (DSHA) students Samantha Wingers of Germantown and Megan O’Brien of Whitefish Bay received honors for their entries in The 2005 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Ladies Auxiliary Voice of Democracy audio-essay scholarship competition.

Wingers, a senior, received first place honors and O’Brien, a junior, received third place honors from Wisconsin’s 5th District Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. The program is now in its 58th year and requires high school student entrants to write and record a three to five minute essay on an announced patriotic theme. "Celebrating Our Veterans' Service" was the 2005 theme.
