In addition to her support of DSHA and the Sisters of the Divine Savior, Daily is also an active volunteer in her community. “While a member of Marquette University’s President’s Council, she made frequent donations of her time and resources,” says nominator Sister Karlyn Cauley, SDS, a DivineSaviorHigh School 1961 graduate. “She enthusiastically promotes any civic organization she is part of,” and for 35 years this included Milwaukee Irish Fest, for which she is currently a member of the Green Tie Committee, and her parish, St. Mary’s of Elm Grove, for which she is presently a member of the Parish Council and Co-Chair of the Christian Formation Committee. She also serves on the Elm Grove Community Foundation Board, and participates in many fundraising activities for St. Anne’s home.
According to Cauley, “[Kathie] enthusiastically supports everyone, supports SDS and DSHA events and is exemplary as a Catholic role model and mentor for DSHA.” Nominator Kathy Donovan Fischer, a friend and classmate of Daily’s commented, “Kathie is a well rounded person who donates her time and efforts in all of her activities with style and grace.”
It is with style and grace that Daily accepted her honor, stating, “I have always felt deep gratitude for the Divine Savior friends, teachers and education. I feel blessed that my daughters and I share this experience. I am grateful to my parents, family, Salvatorian Sisters, friends and colleagues, as well as the DSHA Total School Community, for inviting me to participate in the DSHA mission of service and academic excellence.
