Over two thousand high school students will convene in Boston, Massachusetts, to participate in the 52nd session of the Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Conference, a four-day simulation of the United Nations. Each school will represent a member nation of the United Nations and engage in debate on the most pressing issues on the international agenda. Participants must quickly discern the facts of the issue at hand as well as the opinions of their fellow delegates, and then convincingly portray the interests of their country in both formal speeches and informal negotiations. As they work to craft a resolution or directive, delegates learn the necessity for compromise and consensus in international diplomacy.
