Toni Dujick Gorske named 2004 DSHA Jubilarian of the Year
Milwaukee, WI – Toni Dujick Gorske of Elm Grove has been named Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) “Jubilarian of the Year.” She will be honored on Sunday, October 3 at DSHA’s 21st annual Jubilee Club Celebration, held for Holy Angels Academy and Divine Savior High School alumnae who have graduated 50 years ago or more.
A 1950 graduate of Holy Angels Academy, Gorske has dedicated much of her time since then supporting DSHA. She has been an active volunteer for more than 35 years and is the current representative for her class. The responsibilities of class representative include writing letters, updating lists and keeping in touch with fellow alumnae. A few years ago Gorske was asked to participate on the Alumnae Board, a request she gladly accepted. “It seemed like it would be a worthwhile experience,” she says. She has just recently stepped down from that position. There were many activities that she helped organize and participated in such as the scholarship luncheon, Jubilee Mass and numerous alumnae and reunion events. Gorske was also able to serve on the Alumnae Board with her daughter, Judith Gorske McMullen DSHA’73, an experience Gorske said was “nice.”
“I believe in what DSHA is doing and I think they’re doing a good job,” says Gorske.
Her time is also spent giving back to various aspects of the community. She graduated from Marquette University in 1954 with a degree in medical technology. She is a member of the Association of Marquette University Women and served as the chairman of their 45th reunion. Gorske and her husband Robert are Life Members of the President’s Council and are Friends of the Haggerty Museum. She was a member of the Women’s Board for St. Catherine’s Residence for Women, an organization of which she was the past president. In 1993 she received the LeGrand Award in recognition of her service to St. Catherine’s. She was also the past president of St. Jeanne D’Arc Circle, an association of women who are interested in Catholic culture and matters of current concern. Gorske is a member of the Elm Grove Women’s Club and as a long time board member and past president she has been involved in many fund-raising events which benefit local charities. She is currently a minister of hospitality at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish and volunteers with St. Ben’s meal program.
